The OCR tool is sensitive to a number of factors so to get best results please ensure you are doing the following:

  1. The most important is ensuring the page is completely flat (without any bow/bend) and well / equally lit. This helps the OCR tool determine where the lines start and finish.
  2. Ensure you select ingredient and step blocks separately if they do not form a single file. For instance, if 12 ingredients are in two horizontally adjacent blocks of 6, ensure you select each block of 6 in a new selector on the OCR screen.
  3. A little trial and error. Once you've scanned a recipe, you can see the result and try again to see what works best for your hard copy media.
